We were very privileged on 30th August 2022 to be able to host a panel discussion between leading thinkers about range expanding species. The event was a collaboration between four biodiversa projects, RangeX, ASICS (https://www.coldregioninvasives.com), GenClim (https://www.biodiversa.org/1883/download) and EASMO (https://www.leibniz-zmt.de/en/research/research-projects/easmo.html), and held at the Intecol 2022 conference in Geneva. Jan MacDonald, Mark Urban, Emma Marris, Malin Pinsky, Helen Roy and Ralph Clark discussed the ecological and socio-economic impacts of species that are shifting their ranges in response to changing climate, and how we should respond to these changes.
