South African RangeX site featured in ARTE nature documentary

The RangeX site in South Africa’s Drakensberg mountains is attracting international attention! An ARTE nature documentary featured insights into the experiment, following a visit from the film team. This highlight of the Maloti Drakensberg with its research station is embedded in a series about the South African mountains in general.

Ralph Clark, Sandy Steenhuisen and Stephanie Payne-Smith present the background of the RangeX project, with specific regional information on climate warming and the associated effects and vegetation changes. The importance of researching range expanding plant species is emphasized while acknowledging the bigger picture of protecting the alpine biome.
